Dutch production house Popcentrale and music school ToBe team up with Lucien Foort (Analog Kitchen), bringing his 35 years of international top level experience to the table. Together we form Ubeat Academy, an educational program that you can’t find anywhere else. Our unique form of schooling contains joining a global community network, playing and attending live events and working with industry professionals. Located at the Energiehuis in Dordrecht, Netherlands, Ubeat Academy offers a broad range of on- and offline education.

Over Lucien Foort
Lucien Foort was born in Dordrecht in 1969. From the age of four he was involved in making music, taking music lessons at saxophone at a young age. In his teens he got inspired by turntablism and ventured behind the decks. Hailing from the famous Dolhuis in Dordrecht Lucien contributed to the birth of electronic music, along with DJ’s as DJ Paul.
At the age of 19 Lucien took the world by storm, when he released rave anthem “Quadrophonia” in ‘89. He toured all over the world and played all the big stages and festivals like Tomorrowland, Time Warp, Creamfields, Dance Valley, Mysteryland, I Love Techno, Roskilde, Extrema, Sankeys, Pacha and Amnesia, sharing stages with talent like of Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, John Digweed, Ricardo Villalobos and Monika Kruse.
His productions find their way into the record crates of the high and mighty of the dance scene, a.o Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Sasha and John Digweed. He has released on international record labels such as Bedrock, SONY BMG, Universal Music, Armada Music and Toolroom. His tracks have topped the dance charts worldwide and club anthem “Bleeep!” on Toolroom was a nr 1 in the Beatport Tech House charts for 7 months.
The last few years Lucien has focused on the underground scene. Under the name Analog Kitchen he has been creating dawless electronic music. He began sharing his immense knowledge on the Analog Kitchen YouTube Channel and within months the channel grew into an international community of dawless electronic musicians. The community is growing and sharing more knowledge as we speak.
Over ToBe cultuurcentrum
Together with Muziekschool Ridderkerk, Servicebureau Onderwijs&Cultuur and Popcentrale, Cultuurcentrum ToBe is part of Stichting Cultuureducatie (SCe). They offer courses, workshops and other activities in Dordrecht and Papendrecht.
ToBe is the place to be to develop your creative talent in the fields of dance, art, music and theatre. Classes are given in the culture center for everyone: whether you are young or old, a beginner or a professional. In addition, ToBe regularly organizes various types of events in collaboration with other art and culture organizations.
Popcentrale
Popcentrale is a production space where young creative and ambitious talents work with the latest musical developments. Experienced musicians exchange knowledge and experiences with the younger generations while creating new acts, trends and productions.
Popcentrale’s facilities consist of three pro level recording studios and several production spaces where musicians can develop themselves independently and in collaborations. Popcentrale has its own concert hall (capacity 150), facilities for 4K video recording and multitrack audio recording. Our studios are connected to all halls in the Energiehuis, allowing us to multitrack audio from any location in the building.
A team of professionals, supplemented by volunteers, daily puts their effort in working at the latest developments in the field of pop music. We collaborate with various partners, such as music school ToBe and Poppodium Bibelot, but also with industry professionals such as DJ / producer Lucien Foort, who runs his studio and Ubeat Academy from Popcentrale.
Energiehuis is a very popular and important stage in South Holland. The former power station consists of no fewer than three theatre and concert halls, three pop music halls, eleven furnished rehearsal rooms and 30 dance studios, workshops and classrooms. Open daily from early in the morning until late in the evening, Energiehuis offers an place where you can increase your own creativity and practice all your skills.
Within the Energiehuis are Bibelot, ToBe cultuurcentrum, Kunstmin and Popcentrale. These organizations organize and program festivals and other events in collaboration. The Energiehuis is also nationally popular as an event location.
